Role Description

As a Software Technical Writer, you will create clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation for software products. This role involves working closely with developers, product managers, and QA teams to translate complex technical concepts into manuals, API documentation, user guides, installation procedures, and release notes.

• Work closely with other writers, product managers, engineers, and the User Experience (UX) team in an Agile development environment.
• Produce in-app assistance, help guides, interactive training, and videos for administrators, users, and developers.
• Craft content for end users.
• Quickly learn complex technologies.
• Maintain high standards of quality and attention to detail.
• Utilize XML-based authoring tools such as Oxygen.
• Use source control software such as Perforce or Git.
• Demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills.
• Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Advocate for the customer.
• Work collaboratively and manage multiple deliverables within tight deadlines.
• Be a strong team player with excellent communication skills.
• Understand SDLC (Software Development, Operations and Support).
• Collaborate with different teams and vendors to build a strong document library for the Organizational teams.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with authoring tools: Madcap Flare, Adobe InDesign, Adobe FrameMaker, Oxygen XML (a plus).
• Expertise in MS Word.
• Experience in creating templates and formatting.
• Ability to create consistent styles across documents.
• Proficiency in MS Excel.
• Expertise in SharePoint, including file sharing and collaboration strategies (e.g., check-in/check-out files).
• Familiarity in creating, using, and updating style guides.
• Ability to collaborate with other technical writers on reviewing deliverables.
• 3 – 5 years’ experience in reviewing/editing deliverables.

Requirements

• Expertise in MS Word, MS Excel, SharePoint.
