Role Description

The Technical Proofreading Specialist is responsible for reviewing and validating detailed engineering and insurance-related reports. This role ensures accuracy in written content, calculations, and data presented in reports used for property loss assessments and claims analysis.

Scope of Services

• Proofread and edit technical reports for grammar, clarity, and consistency.
• Review numerical data, calculations, and engineering-related details for accuracy.
• Cross-check information between reports, supporting documents, and spreadsheets.
• Work with Excel and Microsoft Office tools to validate data and formatting.
• Ensure reports meet company standards and client expectations.
• Flag discrepancies, inconsistencies, or missing information for correction.
• Work collaboratively with others to communicate discrepancies, inconsistencies, or missing information for correction.

Skills

• Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
• Excellent written English communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience reviewing technical, engineering, or data-heavy documents is preferred.
• Background in engineering, science, math, or technical fields is a plus.
• ESL teaching or similar experience is a plus (strong grammar foundation).

• Comfortable working with numbers and calculations.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Work Schedule

• Contracted Hours per Week: 40 Hours.
• Scheduled Working Days: Monday through Friday (unless otherwise mutually agreed in writing).
• Daily Working Time: 8am to 5pm EST.

Terms of Engagement

• Contractors will operate under a Master Services Agreement and a Statement of Work.
• This is not an offer of employment; contractors are not employees of 20four7VA or any client.
• All compensation is processed through 20four7VA according to the terms of the engagement.
