Role Description
Fors Marsh is seeking an organized and motivated Technical Documentation Specialist to join the Military Personnel & Family Research division. This individual's primary responsibility will be to conduct administrative and technical editing tasks in support of a military research-focused client.

Perform administrative tasks such as data entry, document management, and maintaining internal records.

Maintain client records using methods that comply with their standards and procedures under supervisor guidance.

Contribute to revisions in SOPs and records management as required by supervisor.

Assist team members with the creation of complex documents, providing detailed reviews of content and form for consistency with client-specific style guides.

Provide technical editing services, ensuring documents meet quality standards and are clear, accurate, and aligned with technical guidelines.

Focus on MS Word and PowerPoint, providing administrative and basic technical support to users.

Learn applicable software tools by thoroughly reading and maintaining training and reference documentation.

Maintain and enhance template sets, including MS Word and PowerPoint templates.

Under supervision, complete web content maintenance tasks, including posting documents to the web using the client's content management system.

Maintain a list of policy officials for website notifications.

Draft and release off-cycle communications of updates to OPA.mil, ensuring information is accurate and timely.

Create and distribute public affairs approval forms and submit to the Office of Security Review and the Defense Technical Information Center.

Assist with other publication, web content, and communications support needs as necessary.

Advise the client and Fors Marsh team members on related requests, offering guidance and recommendations under general supervision.

Support other administrative tracking and coordination activities as needed.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree and experience, or equivalent combination of education & experience.

2-5 years relevant work experience.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and PowerPoint.

Strong organizational and time management skills; able to manage, track, and prioritize competing tasks.

Skilled in applying publication styles and guidelines to products; editing experience preferred.

Clear and effective oral and written communication for internal and external audiences.

Strong customer service skills and orientation.

Strong attention to detail and rigorous in quality control of own work.

Experience and comfort with preparing and facilitating virtual and/or in-person training for groups of 5-20 participants.

Technical aptitude for learning new procedures and tools over time in this role.

Ability to work independently without close supervision and as a team member.

Applicants may be tested on document editing and documentation samples may be requested.

Applicants must be comfortable working with sensitive topics such as suicidal ideations.

Applicants will be subject to a low-level government security investigation and must meet eligibility criteria for access to sensitive information.

Must be a U.S. Citizen and consent to a full background check due to our federal contract requirements.

Applicant must be willing to travel once annually to support in-person training, if requested based on project needs.
