[Hiring] Technical Content Engineer, Cloud Native @Commvault

Role Description

This role owns the twenty minutes that lead to a successful trial experience for builders. You are a content engineer who creates actionable, tested documentation that ensures builders can easily implement solutions.

• Write and maintain Clumio documentation, including getting-started paths, service protection guides, API and SDK references, and recovery runbooks.
• Build the fastest possible path to first value for users without needing support.
• Author deep technical guides on key workloads such as S3, DynamoDB, and RDS, addressing cost, scale, and recovery times.
• Own the technical narrative in AWS Marketplace listings and in-product onboarding copy.
• Ship and maintain working example repositories: Terraform modules, CloudFormation templates, and sample integrations.
• Test every documented workflow in a real AWS environment.
• Produce short technical demos and walkthroughs that showcase product functionality.
• Create content that ranks in search and is cited by AI assistants.
• Identify and answer common questions about cloud data protection.
• Instrument and analyze content performance metrics.
• Collaborate with growth on onboarding experiments and partner teams.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in a developer-facing technical role (technical writing, developer relations, etc.).
• Strong writing track record and coding skills.
• Working fluency in AWS services (S3, IAM, DynamoDB, etc.).
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.).
• Fluency in docs-as-code practices (Git, Markdown, etc.).
• Instinct for anticipating reader confusion and addressing it in writing.
• Demonstrated technical content that has successfully shipped.

Requirements

• Background in data protection, storage, or data engineering (nice to have).
• Experience at a product-led company where documentation contributed to growth (nice to have).
• AWS certification or a personal AWS account with a billing history (nice to have).
• Experience with docs analytics and optimizing content for AI retrieval (nice to have).

Your First 90 Days

• Week 1: Run the trial as a new user and document any obstacles.

• Day 90: Own the content roadmap and have measurable progress on activation.
