This is your opportunity to join our Linguistic Services team as a Senior Translator-Revisor. The incumbent will work remotely. Your responsibilities as a Senior Translator-Revisor include:

Translate documents from English into French, ensuring the preservation of content, meaning, and intent of the source text.

Revise translations done internally and by external providers for consistency in wording and terminology.

Help plan, prioritize, and manage all translation and revision requests.

Provide expert advice to internal clients and colleagues to optimize translated material.

Collaboratively create and update glossaries, lexicons, style guides, etc.

Participate in the management of computer-assisted translation tools and stay updated on innovations.

Act as a liaison with translation service providers and strategic internal clients.

Suggest and develop initiatives promoting the use of French throughout the company.

Participate in tasks related to the company’s francization obligations.

Collaborate in drafting and managing documents related to Linguistic Services.

Help represent AbbVie Canada’s interests with various levels of AbbVie worldwide.

Contribute to the optimization of resource use and recommend practical solutions.

Support change and innovation in collaboration with various strategic functions of the company.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree (BA) in English-to-French translation or equivalent.
-
Relevant experience with good knowledge of the health or life sciences field (biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry, an asset).

Minimum of ten years of experience in English-to-French translation.

Minimum of five years of experience in comparative English-to-French revision.
-
Experience translating, updating, and revising product monographs (drugs and medical devices).

Professional certification (OTTIAQ, ATIO or equivalent), an asset.

Strong attention to detail and respect for the value and quality of language.

Ability to think and plan strategically and execute with excellence.

Ability to build strong partnerships with key stakeholders.

Ability to work under pressure and manage various projects simultaneously.

Ability to work independently to deliver quality documents and respect deadlines.

Excellent knowledge of industry-specific phraseology and terminology.

Strong sense of responsibility, high level of adaptability, and strong curiosity.

Ease with technology and use of various tools/systems.

Knowledge of LogiTerm, an asset.

Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.).

Advanced proficiency in French, very good understanding of English, strong writing skills, and impeccable style.
