Role Description
Ciklum is looking for a Senior Technical Writer to join our team in Canada. As a Senior Technical Writer, become a part of a cross-functional development team, engineering experiences of tomorrow.
Responsibilities:

Write, edit, and maintain high-quality API documentation, including reference guides, integration manuals, and developer guides.

Collaborate with engineering teams to understand API functions, endpoints, authentication, and error handling.

Ensure API documentation aligns with RESTful best practices and industry standards.

Leverage Confluence, Component Content Management Systems (CCMS), and DITA XML to structure, manage, and deliver content efficiently.

Design and maintain information architecture and taxonomy for technical content.

Develop and review technical examples in PostgreSQL, APIs, Terraform, and Microsoft Azure to support developer documentation.

Work closely with developers to create meaningful code samples and use cases.

Validate technical accuracy by testing API calls and infrastructure configurations.

Establish documentation standards, style guides, and templates.

Identify and implement improvements in content delivery, structure, and discoverability.
-
Manage and optimize content using Content Management Systems (CMS) to ensure scalability and reusability.
Qualifications

Software Engineering Foundation: A deep understanding of software development and engineering principles.

Cloud & DevOps Literacy: Comfortable documenting highly technical, internal-facing systems.

Core Documentation & Writing Skills: Ability to create clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation.

Template Adherence: Ability to follow specific templates, such as the MSF Docs Single Page Design.

Tool Proficiency: Proficient in using Confluence and GitHub as primary documentation platforms.

Personal Skills: Strong interviewing skills and ability to work independently.
Requirements

Cloud Infrastructure: Azure (specifically GovCloud/IL4), cloud architecture, Infrastructure as a Service, terraform, and provisioning.

CI/CD: Complex continuous integration and deployment pipelines.

Databases: PostgreSQL provisioning, operations, and disaster recovery (DR).

Configuration Management: Documenting unified configuration systems and migration from legacy tools.

Observability: Writing best practices for monitoring and alerting.
