Role Description

Valiant Solutions is seeking a Security Compliance Policy and Guide Writer to join our rapidly growing and innovative cybersecurity team! In this role, you’ll work to document both operational reference and security compliance documentation, including:

• Agency policies
• Technical baselines
• All documentation related to enterprise-level compliance for the agency

This position allows for 100% remote work, requiring a high level of trust in our employees.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience writing technical documentation for IT solutions, including operational guides and compliance documentation
• 5+ years of related experience
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Engineering or related degree OR two (2) additional years of professional experience in lieu of degree
• Must understand both NIST special publications, FISMA, and other federal laws and regulations
• Ability to rapidly and effectively research Federal regulations, laws, and guidance
• Experience using Google Workspace (Google Drive, Sheets, Docs) a plus
• Working knowledge of IT standards and frameworks (at a minimum, NIST and ISO)

Requirements

• Ensures all Agency documents align with FISMA and other Federal guidance
• Interfaces with federal employees and contractors
• Assists in presenting updates and the status of deliverables to the client
• Develops spreadsheets (Google and Excel) for tracking metrics
• Gathers and writes technical documents for the installation, operation, and maintenance of information systems
• Ensures that technical documents are written in a clear, readable format
• Performs quality assurance reviews and edits applicable materials
• Works closely with stakeholders to develop new products and services
• Ensures conformance to existing IT standards
• Writes or edits documentation for reports, manuals, briefings, proposals, and instructional materials
• Utilizes project management tools (such as Trello or Jira) to manage and track assigned tasks
