Role Description

The Content Editor is an internal team member within the Consultwebs ROI Strategy Department and supports the Client Services team. The successful candidate is an effective writer and editor who can translate complex legal topics into engaging, easy-to-understand website content.

The ideal candidate will have a background in journalism, online copywriting, legal writing, or technical writing. A law degree and law license are preferred, but not mandatory.

The right person writes with precision and authority, understands how content performs in both traditional and AI-driven search, and knows how to use AI tools for planning, research, and review, while keeping the writing itself entirely human-crafted. Clients trust us to deliver authentic, original content, and that standard is non-negotiable.

• Research, draft, and edit engaging static pages, blog posts, and other written materials that are accurate, informative, and crafted to drive conversions and enhance search engine rankings.
• Write press releases to showcase clients’ public profiles and reputations.
• Write Stacker stories to support the Outreach team’s media placement and link-building efforts.
• Assign tasks to contractors, ensuring that assignments are clear and thorough.
• Review, edit, proofread, and fact-check contractor-delivered content, providing constructive feedback as needed.
• Revise content drafts to implement clients’ edits and address any concerns.
• Regularly meet with Client Services teams to discuss content plans, deliver status updates, and provide constructive feedback on content proposals.
• Vigilantly manage the workflow of assigned tasks and ensure that priority and urgent tasks receive expedited treatment.
• Communicate and collaborate with the Content Team Lead about any challenges that arise.
• Stay informed about the latest developments and trends in copywriting for online marketing and implement changes as necessary.
• Participate in professional development opportunities such as conferences, CLE seminars, webinars, online courses, and the annual company conference.
• Use best practices regarding ethical and local bar standards.
• Prepare instructions and documents to address client-specific requests.

Qualifications

• Law degree and law license preferred but not required.
• Proven website content writing and editing experience (preferably a background in journalism, copywriting for websites, or other types of technical writing).
• Extensive experience and knowledge of legal issues, especially those involving personal injury, family law, criminal defense, workers’ compensation, Social Security disability, employment law, and bankruptcy.
• Ability to adapt content writing to match a client’s style preferences.
• Strong knowledge of SEO principles – E-E-A-T, keyword integration, on-page optimization, internal linking, and content structure — applied in service of the reader, not at their expense.
• Experience with content optimization and editing tools such as Surfer SEO and Grammarly.
• AI familiarity a plus (e.g., Google Gemini, ChatGPT, or other generative AI platforms).
