[Hiring] Korean Translator / Content Creator @Brainscape

Role Description

Brainscape is seeking a talented Korean translator / content creator to help build a new beginner curriculum for our flashcard web and mobile app. You'll work from our proven content template (with full training and style guide provided) to create high-quality flashcards and study materials designed specifically for beginner learners.

You will be responsible for creating and reviewing beginner language content that is clear, accurate, and culturally relevant. This role is collaborative and requires a keen eye for detail, plus the ability to simplify complex concepts for first-time learners.

• Advise on best practices for representing Korean in a digital flashcard format (e.g., script vs. romanization, diacritics, learner scaffolding).
• Provide feedback on learner challenges unique to Korean (e.g., script direction, pronunciation).
• Adapt our content template for beginner flashcards to create a full Korean beginner curriculum.
• Write accurate and contextually appropriate translations for vocabulary and phrases.
• Craft concise, beginner-friendly flashcard footnotes explaining grammar, pronunciation, or cultural nuances.
• Review and edit content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and pedagogical soundness with our style guide.
• Apply best practices from language learning tools and mobile flashcards.

Qualifications

• Fluent in both English and Korean.
• Bonus points for proficiency in a third language.
• Experience teaching Korean or developing language learning content.
• Ability to simplify complex grammar and cultural points for beginning learners.
• Comfortable with online collaboration tools (e.g., Google Docs, Trello).

Commitment

This is a remote opportunity with a flexible commitment of at least 10 to 40 hours in total, with the possibility of a longer-term engagement. The work required will be spread over a period of 6-10 weeks in various chunks of time that may be subject to change week-by-week.
