[Hiring] International Consultant for Spanish Translation and Quality Review @AGORA

Role Description

UNICEF LACRO aims to strengthen emergency preparedness and response capacities by expanding access to quality learning opportunities. However, many mandatory e-learning courses are currently available only in English, limiting access for Spanish-speaking audiences across the region.

To address this, UNICEF requires the translation and publication of nine existing self-paced e-learning courses into Spanish. The consultant will:

• Translate, quality assure, and publish all course components, including text, graphics, downloadable resources, subtitles, navigation elements, and other visual assets.
• Deliver nine fully translated, quality-assured Articulate Rise courses in Spanish, published in Agora and approved through UNICEF's review process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Translation, Linguistics, International Development, or another relevant field.
• At least five (5) years of relevant professional experience in translation, editing, or localization of learning materials.
• Demonstrated experience translating online learning courses or digital educational content.
• Experience working with humanitarian, education, or international development organizations is highly desirable.
• Experience working with UNICEF or other UN agencies is an asset.

Requirements

• Excellent writing and editing skills in Spanish.
• Experience using AI-assisted translation tools while ensuring human quality assurance.
• Experience working with e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Rise 360, Storyline 360, or equivalent).
• Experience managing subtitles, graphics, and multimedia learning resources.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate remotely with UNICEF teams.
• Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish.
• Excellent written English with demonstrated experience translating from English into Spanish.

Desirables

• Knowledge of UNICEF terminology and editorial standards.
• Familiarity with Education in Emergencies and humanitarian terminology.
• Experience publishing content in Learning Management Systems (Agora, Moodle, Totara, Articulate Rise, Storyline, or similar).
• Knowledge of accessibility principles for digital learning.
