[Hiring] Grant Researcher @JerseySTEM, Inc.

Role Description

This is a pro-bono volunteer position. JerseySTEM is looking for talented professionals across our departments to commit time and energy as long-term engagement for our mission to provide STEM education to underrepresented middle school girls. As a member of the Grant Research Team, you'll be helping JerseySTEM to source grants and complete grant documents.

• Researching grants using secondary databases, company websites, and foundation center databases.
• Developing grant proposals that effectively communicate the organization's goals, objectives, and strategies to potential funders.
• Maintaining accurate records of grant submissions and outcomes.
• Compiling data and recording information in Salesforce, Jira, or Spreadsheets.
• Attending weekly team meetings: Sundays at 12pm EST.

Qualifications

• Must be self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Ability to study and understand programs and funding requirements of the organization.
• Strong research and writing skills, including the ability to develop compelling narratives that effectively communicate the organization's mission and goals.
• Familiarity with grant application processes and requirements.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
• Experience writing grants is preferred.

• All JerseySTEM roles are pro-bono (unpaid) positions.
• JerseySTEM is a mission-driven professional network of pro-bono contributors dedicated to improving access to STEM education and career pathways for underserved middle school girls in New Jersey.
• Members contribute their professional skills and leverage their networks in service of the organization’s gender-equity agenda.
• Membership is a minimum six-month commitment of approximately six flexible hours per week and includes a $100 refundable deposit, returned after six months of active membership.
• K–12 educators, retirees, veterans, interns, and students are exempt from the deposit.
