Role Description

Ashley Digital is seeking an experienced Creative Director, Copy & Content to lead and unify the copywriting function across the organization and family of brands. Reporting to the VP of Brand & Creative, this role will oversee the development of a centralized copy team responsible for shaping brand voice, messaging strategy, campaign storytelling, and customer communication across all channels.

This role requires a highly polished and strategic creative leader with deep expertise in:

• Copywriting
• Editorial storytelling
• Brand messaging
• Team leadership at scale

The ideal candidate brings exceptional creative instincts, operational discipline, and a forward-thinking mindset around how AI and emerging technologies can transform modern creative organizations. You will lead a growing team of writers and creative contributors responsible for developing compelling, conversion-minded, and brand-right messaging across:

• Marketing campaigns
• Product storytelling
• PR and communications
• Ecommerce
• Retail
• Social
• Email
• Presentations
• Internal communications
• Executive messaging

This leader will play a critical role in building a unified voice system across the organization while also helping establish next-generation AI-enabled creative workflows, scalable content systems, and operational efficiencies that elevate both quality and speed across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional copywriting experience, including significant time in creative leadership roles
• A Bachelor's Degree in English, Journalism, Communications or related field
• Proven track record leading high-performing copy or editorial teams within retail, consumer, lifestyle, agency, or multi-brand environments
• Compelling portfolio that demonstrates mastery across campaign storytelling, brand voice development, editorial writing, and multi-channel communications
• Experience architecting messaging systems and managing complex stakeholder relationships across matrixed organizations
• Demonstrated success implementing AI-assisted creative workflows, content automation, or copy operations initiatives — strongly preferred
• Experience with Rytr, preferred

Requirements

• Exceptional writer, editor, and storyteller with a precise command of language and an instinct for what resonates
• Deep fluency in brand strategy, messaging architecture, customer psychology, and content development
• Working knowledge of generative AI tools, prompt engineering, and AI-enabled creative workflows — with a clear point of view on where the technology is headed
• Broad copy oversight experience spanning digital, ecommerce, retail, social, advertising, internal communications, and executive-level messaging
• Confident presenter with strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to articulate creative rationale at every level of the organization
• Familiarity with modern creative operations, content systems, and DAM platforms
