Writers will be expected to work on both planned and trending stories, with the ability to quickly adapt when a topic starts gaining attention. Strong editorial judgment, curiosity, originality, and accuracy are essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to write for a broad, general audience rather than an overly technical or academic audience.
• Strong research skills and the ability to find information beyond the first search result.
• Strong understanding of pop culture, entertainment, Hollywood, television, movies, celebrities, and internet trends.
• Curiosity about subjects outside entertainment, particularly human interest, astronomy, true crime, AI, podcasts, and emerging topics.
• Ability to write original stories rather than producing lightly rewritten versions of existing articles.
• Ability to work with deadlines and handle multiple assignments when required.
• Willingness to accept editorial feedback and improve articles based on it.
• Strong attention to factual accuracy, names, dates, timelines, and context.
• Ability to adapt writing style and structure depending on the story and audience.

Requirements

• Flexibility is important; writers may occasionally need to adjust their schedules for breaking news, major entertainment events, live developments, or high priority stories.
• Writers should be comfortable handling different topics and switching between verticals when editorial priorities change.
• The ability to work independently is important; writers should be able to research a topic, identify the relevant information, and develop an article without requiring step by step instructions.
• Writers should be comfortable questioning information that appears unreliable or unsupported instead of treating every online claim as fact.
• A genuine interest in entertainment, pop culture, digital media, or current trends is highly preferred.
