[Hiring] Content Writer @Girl Effect

Role Description

Girl Effect India seeks to engage an experienced creative content writer, supported by a dedicated content team, to develop engaging, youth-centred content for a large-scale project focused on empowering adolescent girls and young women.

• Develop a range of content formats, such as multimedia scripts, games, activities, icebreakers, facilitated teaching sessions, and other interactive learning experiences.
• Content should be engaging, relatable, and relevant to girls and young women across diverse social and cultural contexts.
• Ensure content is inclusive, accessible, and aligned with Girl Effect’s principles of girl-centred design, social and behaviour change, gender equality, and safeguarding.
• Content will be developed primarily in English and subsequently adapted into regional languages, including Hindi, Marathi, Telugu, and others.
• Design content for delivery across a range of settings and platforms, including in-person and digital/online environments.
• Adopt a writing approach that facilitates effective translation and adaptation into regional languages.

Qualifications

• A conversational writer and thinker with experience in writing content for youth audiences.
• Proven ability to work with subject matter experts and ‘translate’ their expertise into appropriate content for the target audience.
• Proven ability to create compelling and engaging content that delivers clear messages.
• Experience in behavior change and learning-focused content ideation and writing would be a massive bonus.
• Passionate about making a positive difference in the life of young women and girls.

Requirements

• Minimum 5-6 years of proven experience as a writer or related role.
• Knowledge of content strategy and creation.
• Excellent writing, editing, and proof-reading skills.
• Strong research skills.
• Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
• Effective communicator and writer in English and Hindi.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills and experience working in a multicultural team across multiple countries.
• Ability to be flexible within a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Commitment to realizing the potential of girls and to the vision and values of Girl Effect.

Benefits

• The assignment is expected to take 4-5 months.
• This will be a timeline-based project, at a daily rate.
• The consultant's assignment period will start from 10th September 2026.
