Role Description

Ever rented an apartment? RentEngine makes it faster, easier, and cheaper. Hundreds of leasing teams in 45 states rely on RentEngine every day. We launched in 2025 and are growing by 15%/month with a lean team of 15. We ship new features daily and announce weekly.

This is a high-growth, high-ownership startup. Everybody is an individual contributor, there are no middle managers or bureaucracy. You'll learn quick and get as much responsibility as you can handle. We look for 3 key traits:

What you'll own:

• Weekly newsletters — drafted from source material like product walkthroughs, internal notes, and engineering tickets, then converted into blog posts
• LinkedIn content — multiple formats per week, including long-form, short-form, and image-led posts
• Monthly prospect newsletter plus the spin-off content that extends each edition across channels
• Blog posts expanded from newsletters, reports, and customer interviews
• Repurposing — taking one piece of source IP and slicing it into newsletter copy, LinkedIn posts, blog drafts, and short video scripts, etc.
• Support drafts for case studies, one-pagers, and quarterly report copy when volume requires it

Qualifications

• Someone who was writing before AI and still writes well without it. AI is a complementary tool.
• Sharp instincts for brand voice: RentEngine is confident, direct, and problem-first. We prefer data over adjectives.
• Property management, prop-tech, B2B SaaS, or fintech experience is a plus but not required. Curiosity about the space matters more.
• Self-directed individual. You'll work from transcripts, Linear tickets, screenshots, and source documents, and ask when something isn't clear.

Location / Timezone

• Fully remote but in or near Cape Town is preferred for in-person sessions
• All of our work happens in American timezones

Compensation

• $15-$20 USD/hr (based on experience)
