Role Description
This is a paid freelance, remote position. If you’re an experienced writer with a finger on the pulse of the Anime world, CBR wants you to join its award-winning writing team!
Our editorial team is looking for writers to create fun, informative, and engaging Anime Lists that our discerning audience demands, with the eye-catching aesthetic they crave. The selected candidate will have tremendous career growth and internal development opportunities within the organization.

Qualifications
- A passion for anime, writing, and a drive to grow within the industry
- Broad working knowledge of Anime (including Dragon Ball, One Piece, Naruto, Bleach, Avatar/Korra, Studio Ghibli, Sailor Moon, Isekai, Pokémon, One Punch Man, and Jujutsu Kaisen)
- Up to date with new anime
- The ability to analyze content and pull directly from the source material to back up claims
- A sharp eye for grammatical details
- Excellent command of the English language
- Ability to write high-quality articles with swift turn-around times
- Comfortable working in an entirely virtual environment
- Should possess a general understanding of anime culture and strong research skills
Requirements
- Write articles in CBR’s house style (following the requisite training)
- This will include writing three regular sized Lists (1,400 words), and Long Lists (2,000 words)
- This will include fact-checking, formatting, linking, and image sourcing/very basic editing (sizing, brightness, etc.)
- Brainstorm, pitch, and develop original content ideas that’ll be published on-site
- Accept and apply any/all feedback received by the editorial team
- Communicate openly and actively with the editorial team
