Role Description

We are looking for a Tour Leader who is available to lead all of the following departures:

• 12/09/2027 - 19/09/2027
• 19/09/2027 - 26/09/2027

The role of a Back-Roads Touring Tour Leader involves:

• A genuine passion for small group Tour Leading.
• Providing engaging, in-depth commentary on destinations, routes, experiences, local life, and everything seen along the way.
• Overseeing tour-related paperwork, managing expenditures, and ensuring accurate completion of accounting and administrative tasks.
• Leading exciting group activities and fostering a vibrant, social atmosphere within the group.
• Engaging daily with various suppliers to ensure smooth tour operations.
• Prioritising group safety and enjoyment, acting as the first point of contact in case of incidents or crises.
• Embracing the significant responsibility of being directly accountable for the tour's successful execution.

Qualifications

• In-depth local knowledge of Iceland.
• Genuine passion for the places and cultures explored.
• Highly organised with the ability to plan ahead and anticipate needs.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills.
• Positive attitude and professional demeanour.
• Excellent customer service and strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage customer expectations effectively.
• Thrive independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in the local language is highly recommended.

Requirements

• Tour Leading experience in Iceland.
• Confidence in public speaking.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel & SharePoint (preferred).
