[Hiring] MBA Intern, Strategy & Development @Soluna

Role Description

We are looking for an MBA Intern, Development & Strategy to join our world-class team.

The Opportunity:

• Soluna's growth depends on finding the right sites before anyone else does.
• Every week, inbound leads arrive from independent power producers, renewable developers, landowners, and brokers.
• This internship owns the front end of the funnel, taking raw leads and running them through Soluna's qualification criteria.
• Produce a clear recommendation on whether the opportunity advances to full diligence or gets a fast, well-reasoned no.
• This is a high-ownership role on a small team, with your screens read by decision-makers.

What You'll Do

• Lead Qualification & Screening:
  • Run inbound and sourced leads through Soluna's qualification framework.
  • Produce a standard one-page qualification summary for each lead.
  • Recommend advance, park, or pass on every opportunity with reasoning documented.
  • Maintain the lead intake queue to ensure timely reviews.
• Light Financial Modeling:
  • Build first-pass economic screens for qualified sites.
  • Run sensitivities on key variables affecting the opportunity.
  • Pressure-test counterparty assumptions against market data.
  • Keep the screening model clean and reusable.
• Market & Pipeline Intelligence:
  • Track opportunities across ERCOT, SPP, MISO, and PJM.
  • Update the pipeline tracker and executive summary for leadership.
  • Research specific markets, utilities, or counterparties on demand.
  • Present a summer project to the Development & Strategy team and senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an MBA program, with an expected graduation date following the internship period.
• Strong Excel modeling skills — comfortable building a screening model from scratch.
• Demonstrated analytical judgment with the ability to reach defensible answers with incomplete information.
• Clear, concise written communication skills.
• Genuine interest in energy, digital infrastructure, or the intersection of the two.

Requirements

• Prior experience in energy, infrastructure, project finance, investment banking, private equity, or corporate development (preferred).
• Familiarity with U.S. wholesale power markets, interconnection processes, or renewable project development (preferred).
• Exposure to market data platforms such as Orennia, Velocity Suite, or similar (preferred).
• Working knowledge of Bitcoin mining economics or AI/HPC data center demand drivers (preferred).
• Comfort building in PowerPoint for investor- and board-facing audiences (preferred).
