[Hiring] Staff Site Reliability Engineer @Virtru

Role Description

As a Staff Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) in the Delivery Engineering organization, you’ll be helping to build a founder team focused on making deployments simple, easy, and fast. Your responsibilities will include:

• Own deployment automation for the Data Security Platform, including packaging, installation, upgrades, and validation in environments Virtru does not operate.
• Build the air-gapped delivery path end to end, including offline bundles, mirrored registries, signed artifacts, and upgrades without egress, shell access, or telemetry.
• Partner with QA to build a reproducible test fleet and deployment test harness that proves a release works across various Kubernetes distributions and identity providers.
• Establish the infrastructure-as-code baseline for standard deployments.
• Instrument deployments to measure time to value, upgrade lag, first-time-right rate, and cost per deployment.
• Design for disconnected operation, ensuring collectors can operate without automated telemetry.
• Convert learnings from engagements into reusable accelerators.
• Partner with Platform Engineering on the build and release pipeline.
• Carry field findings into product decisions to prevent recurring deployment failures.
• Act as the technical authority on customer deployment escalations, converting issues into enduring assets.
• Set the technical bar for future engineers and help define standards across the organization.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers while promoting a DevOps-first mentality.

Qualifications

• Experience shipping software into environments you could not reach (air-gapped, disconnected).
• Experience with Kubernetes across distributions (EKS, OpenShift, RKE2, k3s).
• Embrace Infrastructure as Code and reproducible environments (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible).

Requirements

• Experience with Argo CD or GitOps at scale.
• Familiarity with Windows Server, PowerShell, and MSI or MSIX packaging.
• Proficiency in Go.
• Operational depth in Keycloak, OIDC, and SAML.
• Experience with federal compliance and software supply-chain tooling (STIG, OpenSCAP).
• Hands-on experience with Zarf, Hauler, oc-mirror, or troubleshoot.sh.
• Experience with Podman and systemd-based container deployment.
• Familiarity with Zero Trust security architecture.
• Existing TS/SCI US security clearance or eligibility.
