Role Description

The Software Development Engineer II (Platform) will be responsible for:

• Application Development:
  • Design, develop, and maintain features for our FinTech application using Java 21 and Spring Boot 3.x.
  • Write clean, well-documented, and efficient code, focusing on both performance and maintainability.
  • Integrate third-party APIs and services to extend the functionality of the application.
• Collaboration & Teamwork:
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and other team members to deliver high-quality software solutions.
  • Work closely with Product Managers to understand business requirements and translate them into detailed technical designs and features.
  • Participate in code reviews, share best practices, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
• Testing & Quality Assurance:
  • Write unit and integration tests to ensure the quality and stability of the codebase.
  • Debug and resolve issues, ensuring that the application runs smoothly and efficiently.
  • Participate in ensuring that the software adheres to quality standards and meets regulatory requirements.
• Continuous Improvement:
  • Suggest and implement improvements to the development process, tools, and technologies used by the team.
  • Contribute to building a positive, collaborative, and knowledge-sharing environment within the engineering team.
• Compliance & Security:
  • Follow best practices to ensure that the application is secure and compliant with relevant industry regulations.
  • Be proactive about identifying and mitigating potential security risks and vulnerabilities in the system.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 2-4 years of professional experience in Java 21 with Spring Boot 3.x.
• Strong expertise in microservices architecture and RESTful API development.
• Hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.).
• Familiarity with AWS, GCP, or Azure, and containerization tools like Docker/Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in Git and experience working with CI/CD pipelines, SonarQube, etc.
• Experience in Agile development methodologies with excellent problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in SonarQube, and automated testing (JUnit, Mockito, PITest).

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Jenkins, Kubernetes, and other DevOps automation tools.
• Familiarity with front-end frameworks like React.
• Understanding payment systems, transaction processing, and data security in FinTech applications.
• Awareness of compliance frameworks such as PCI-DSS.
