[Hiring] ServiceNow Developer / Administrator @General Dynamics Information Technology

Role Description

We are currently seeking a ServiceNow Developer / Administrator to join our team supporting the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) . This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in ServiceNow administration and some hands-on development experience who is ready to grow into more complex work.

Your Impact:

• Help maintain, enhance, and support the ServiceNow platform to ensure reliability, usability, and compliance with best practices.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot incidents, and work with senior developers to resolve complex issues.
• Perform day-to-day administration of service requests on the ServiceNow platform.
• Maintain CMDB and discovery accuracy through updates, reporting, and routine data quality reviews.
• Configure and develop basic to intermediate-level functionality using Business Rules, Client Scripts, Script Includes, and Flow Designer.
• Assist in building simple integrations using Integration Hub or scripted REST APIs under the guidance of senior developers.
• Create and maintain clear technical documentation for configurations, updates, and small development tasks.
• Stay informed on ServiceNow platform updates and features.
• Identify opportunities to streamline administrative tasks and improve platform usability.
• Stay updated on emerging trends and advancements in ServiceNow to recommend and implement innovative system improvements.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of experience supporting or developing on the ServiceNow platform.
• Working knowledge of JavaScript and ServiceNow scripting fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience with core platform components such as:
  • Business Rules, UI Policies, Client Scripts
  • Service Catalog and basic workflows/Flow Designer
  • CMDB fundamentals
• Ability to troubleshoot issues logically and work collaboratively to solve problems.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Requirements

• US Citizenship Required: No
• Location: Remote
• Clearance Level: Requires the ability to pass a CMS background check and meet the residency requirement for having resided in the US at least (3) three out of the last (5) five years in order to obtain a Public Trust.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification.
• Additional ServiceNow certifications or micro-certifications (Flow Designer, Service Catalog, etc.).
• Familiarity with REST APIs and basic integration concepts.
• Understanding of ITIL concepts.
• Some experience with Performance Analytics, reporting, or Dashboard creation.
