Role Description

Responsible for leading the ongoing development, support, and optimization of critical business data systems and reporting platforms, both on-premises and in the cloud. As a senior member of the team, this role plays a vital part in driving the success of enterprise data solutions by:

• Designing robust SQL-based architectures
• Developing ETL pipelines
• Ensuring the integrity, availability, and performance of business-critical systems

This position works closely with Program Managers, Project Managers, business groups, and IT support teams, requiring a strong combination of technical expertise, cross-functional collaboration, communication, and planning skills. A deep understanding of SQL development, database administration, data architecture principles, and systems integration is essential to success in this role.

Location & Travel Details: This position is onsite in Fargo or Miami, with a remote option available for candidates located outside those areas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer/Management Information Systems
• 5–7 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience, with specific focus on SQL development, database administration, and enterprise systems support
• Proven experience writing complex T-SQL queries and designing scalable database solutions
• Demonstrated experience designing and supporting ETL processes and data pipelines

Requirements

• Advanced proficiency in SQL development and database engineering, with a strong command of query design, performance tuning, and database administration
• Deep understanding of data modeling, schema design, and database best practices to ensure data integrity, security, and reliability
• Solid experience with ETL design and development, including data extraction, transformation, loading, pipeline orchestration, and performance optimization
• Familiarity with ETL and data integration tools such as Azure Data Factory (ADF) and SSIS
• Highly proficient using Power Platform tools (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI) for building business solutions and generating insights
• Skilled in use of reporting technologies such as SSRS and Crystal Reports
• Proficient in scripting languages such as PowerShell and Python for task automation and process optimization
• Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers, and drive adoption of engineering standards and best practices
• Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills with a logical, detail-oriented approach
• Working knowledge of project management methodologies including waterfall and agile
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Strong relationship-building, planning, and negotiation skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
• Willingness and ability to travel as required for project implementation, training, or client support
• Experience with Oracle Database administration and development, including schema design, performance tuning, and Oracle-specific features
• Proficiency in PL/SQL programming, including packages, procedures, functions, cursors, and exception handling
• Familiarity with Oracle-specific query optimization techniques and execution plan analysis
• Experience migrating or integrating Oracle-based systems with SQL Server or cloud-based data platforms
• Knowledge of Oracle tools such as SQL Developer, TOAD, or Oracle Data Integrator (ODI)
