[Hiring] Senior Platform Engineer @Assertive Yield B.V.

Role Description

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer in LATAM to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for running AY's data and infrastructure foundation as products other teams can use, starting with databases and storage.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the Databases and Storage products: provisioning, backups and restore drills, upgrades, capacity.
• Tune database config together with the engineering teams.
• Share ownership of Network with the existing team.
• Gather customer feedback and run a roadmap per platform product.
• Take part in platform on-call and joint postmortems.
• Senior ownership.
• Leads incidents end-to-end and writes clear RCAs.
• Plans and runs migrations independently.
• Acts as product owner for platform products: talks to dev teams, turns their friction into a roadmap, and decides what becomes self-service.

Qualifications

• Operated high-throughput data stores.
• ClickHouse preferred: replication, upgrades, backups and restores, capacity. Comfortable debugging disk, memory and network bottlenecks at the OS level.
• Storage: Ceph and/or S3-compatible object storage: recovery, quotas, retention.
• Kubernetes in production on bare metal.
• Running stateful workloads on self-managed clusters.
• Networking fundamentals: DNS, load balancing, TLS, ingress, CDN. Strong enough to share ownership.

Requirements

• Linux: performance debugging (disk I/O, memory, network) and kernel tuning.
• ClickHouse or a comparable columnar/OLAP database, run at scale.
• Ceph and/or S3-compatible object storage.
• Kubernetes: self-managed clusters, stateful workloads, Helm.
• Networking: DNS, TLS, L4/L7 load balancing, Envoy or a similar ingress, CDN.
• Scripting: Bash and at least one other programming language.

Nice-to-have Skills

• Capacity planning and cost forecasting.
• Go or other software skills for building self-service tooling.
• Bare-metal provisioning across multiple providers.
