[Hiring] Senior Java Backend / Microservices Engineer @Veracity

Role Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Java Backend / Microservices Engineer to design, develop, enhance, and support enterprise applications built using Java, Spring Boot, microservices, event-driven architecture, and AWS.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience building scalable backend services, REST APIs, Kafka-based event processing, batch applications, document/file processing solutions, and cloud integrations. Experience working with healthcare, insurance, financial services, or other enterprise applications involving sensitive data is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Develop scalable microservices and REST APIs for business-critical applications.
• Design and implement event-driven applications using Apache Kafka.
• Develop and maintain high-volume batch processing and asynchronous processing workflows.
• Build reliable solutions for processing large volumes of business transactions, files, and documents.
• Develop document generation and processing solutions, including PDF generation and manipulation.
• Integrate applications with AWS services, particularly Amazon S3 and serverless/cloud-based components.
• Develop and maintain secure SFTP and file-transfer integrations with internal and external systems.
• Implement message producers, consumers, listeners, and event-processing workflows.
• Design reusable libraries and shared components that can be leveraged across multiple applications.
• Work with relational databases and develop efficient data-access and persistence layers.
• Implement appropriate authentication, authorization, data security, and sensitive-data protection practices.
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform root-cause analysis across distributed applications.
• Improve application performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Write unit and integration tests and maintain good automated test coverage.
• Participate in requirement analysis, technical design, code reviews, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Work closely with product owners, architects, QA engineers, DevOps teams, and other developers in distributed teams.
• Contribute to CI/CD processes and automated application deployments.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, implementation guides, and operational documentation.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering standards and best practices.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software development experience, with strong hands-on Java backend development experience.
• 3+ years of experience with Spring Boot and microservices.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka or another enterprise messaging/event-streaming platform.
• Experience developing and supporting production-grade enterprise applications.
