Role Description

Our client is supporting the development of advanced AI systems by incorporating high-quality software engineering expertise into training and evaluation workflows.

We are looking for experienced Java backend engineers with strong hands-on expertise in:

• Spring Boot
• Microservices
• REST APIs
• Scalable backend architecture

The role involves:

• Building and reviewing production-grade backend systems
• Improving reliability and performance
• Contributing technically rigorous software outputs that help train next-generation AI systems

No prior AI experience is required.

CONTRACT: Contractor assignment

COMMITMENT: Full-time

LOCATIONS: Remote

NOTES: Compensation ranges from $60–$110 per hour.

Qualifications

• Strong professional experience with Java backend development
• Advanced hands-on experience with Spring Boot
• Strong knowledge of microservices architecture and design principles
• Experience designing and building REST APIs
• Proven ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient production code
• Strong understanding of backend architecture, data structures, and software engineering best practices
• Experience troubleshooting and optimizing backend applications
• Professional written and spoken English

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java backend systems
• Build production-grade services using Spring Boot
• Architect and implement robust microservices for complex application requirements
• Develop and maintain REST APIs and backend integrations
• Review technical specifications and translate them into reliable implementations
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize backend services for performance and stability
• Participate in code reviews and provide technically grounded feedback
• Improve backend reliability, security, maintainability, and scalability
• Document technical decisions, architecture, and implementation details clearly
• Collaborate with distributed engineering teams on complex backend development tasks
