[Hiring] Senior Full Stack Software Developer @Elastic

Role Description

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Streams UI team, where you'll have the chance to shape and enhance our user interface, making it more intuitive and engaging for our users. In this role, you'll work on Fleet and Streams, which includes:

• Fleet: The central management experience for Elastic Agent in Kibana.
• Streams: A new tool for handling log data, including ingesting, organizing, parsing, enriching, and setting retention for the data.

What You Will Be Doing

• Design and implement intuitive user interface components using TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
• Integrate front-end elements with back-end services for a smooth user experience.
• Conduct usability testing and gather user feedback for continuous improvements.
• Own complex, loosely-defined problems end-to-end, making key technical decisions and delivering results.
• Lead discussions on architecture and system design, considering trade-offs, backwards compatibility, performance, and scale.
• Establish coding standards and ensure team adherence throughout the development process.
• Promote reusable components and implement automated testing and deployment to maintain code quality.
• Evaluate new technologies for potential integration and document best practices for team-wide knowledge sharing.
• Conduct thorough code reviews, offering constructive feedback and identifying potential security vulnerabilities.
• Collaborate asynchronously across timezones with a fully-distributed team, working in the open on GitHub and in Slack.
• Partner closely with designers and product managers to translate user experience goals into functional UI components.
• Ensure consistent visual design across all UI elements and participate in brainstorming sessions for innovative ideas.

Qualifications

• Solid production experience with full-stack JavaScript, preferably TypeScript; React on the front end and Node.js on the back end.
• A track record of leading non-trivial projects end-to-end with real design ownership and minimal guidance.
• Proficient architecture and system-design judgment, including in large, existing codebases.
• Successfully designed and launched multiple user interface components that significantly increased user commitment.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools to develop features faster and improve existing codebases.
• Exemplary written and verbal communication skills, with a genuine excitement for async collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
• A multiplier mindset, enhancing the skills of engineers around you.
• A generalist streak and a user-focused mindset, considering the people using your software.

Bonus Points

• Experience with the Elastic stack, observability tooling, or log/data-ingestion pipelines.
• Go, Kubernetes, or cloud-native application development experience.
• Experience building large user interfaces that manage a lot of data, including skills in search, filtering, and tables.
• Experience working with streaming or real-time data.
• Prior open-source or working-in-the-open experience, or time on a developer-facing platform team.
• Experience mentoring engineers or leading a small project team.

Compensation

Compensation for this role is in the form of base salary. This role does not have a variable compensation component. The typical starting salary range for this role is:

• 307,800 zł — 486,900 zł PLN
