Role Description

The Intermediate Dynamics 365 Business Central Developer is responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, maintaining, and supporting Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central solutions for clients. The role contributes to project delivery, custom development, system integrations, troubleshooting, and ongoing support while adhering to development best practices and quality standards. Working closely with Solution Architects, Functional Consultants, Project Managers, and Development Lead, this role will help deliver scalable and high-quality Business Central solutions that meet client business requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Solution Development:
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central customizations and extensions.
  • Develop solutions using AL programming language and Business Central Extension architecture.
  • Build and maintain custom pages, reports, code units, tables, APIs, workflows, and integrations.
  • Develop reusable and scalable components aligned with Microsoft best practices.
  • Participate in solution design workshops and technical reviews.
• Project Delivery:
  • Deliver development tasks within agreed project timelines and budgets.
  • Collaborate with Functional Consultants to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Assist with solution estimation, planning, and effort sizing.
  • Support implementation, deployment, and go-live activities.
• Integrations:
  • Develop and support integrations between Business Central and:
    • Power Platform
    • Azure Services
    • Microsoft 365
    • Third-party applications
    • Legacy business systems
  • Utilize APIs, web services, and integration frameworks to facilitate data exchange.
• Support & Maintenance:
  • Investigate and resolve production incidents and defects.
  • Provide second- and third-line application support.
  • Perform root cause analysis and recommend permanent resolutions.
  • Support enhancement requests and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Quality Assurance:
  • Create and execute unit tests for developed solutions.
  • Participate in peer reviews and code reviews.
  • Ensure development follows the coding standards and governance frameworks.
  • Maintain technical documentation for all developed solutions.
• Continuous Improvement:
  • Stay current with Microsoft Business Central releases and emerging technologies.
  • Identify opportunities to improve development practices, automation, and performance.
  • Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and technical capability growth.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Dynamics 365 Business Central architecture.
• Experience developing extensions using AL.
• Understanding of Business Central SaaS environments.
• Experience with Business Central customization and configuration.

Requirements

• Degree, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in:
  • Computer Science
  • Information Technology
  • Software Development
  • Related field
• 5–7 years' software development experience.
• Minimum 5 years' hands-on Dynamics 365 Business Central development experience.
• Proven experience delivering client-facing business application projects.
• Experience working in consulting or professional services environments preferred.
