[Hiring] Rust Runtime & Developer Tooling Engineer @Launch Legends

Role Description

We’re offering a unique opportunity to join Launch Legends (and Autheo) as a part-time Equity Cofounder. Founded in July 2021, Launch Legends is at the forefront of bridging Web3 blockchain technology with the next evolution of Web2 integration—bringing businesses on-chain through enterprise-grade solutions, DePIN innovations, and decentralized financial infrastructure.

Autheo is recruiting a Rust engineer to own the execution runtime and the developer experience around it. That means WASM-compatible execution in the Eigensphere Engine, the Rust contract and SDK path, and the cargo-level tooling a DevHub builder uses to compile, test and deploy.

Qualifications

• Public Rust you wrote.
• A GitHub/GitLab profile, crates.io crate (with download history), or merged pull requests to a runtime, VM, compiler or SDK project.
• Production Rust: ownership, lifetimes, procedural/declarative macros, traits, and async where it fits.
• You’ve worked inside a VM, interpreter, runtime or compiler (WASM, EVM/revm, SVM/eBPF, MoveVM, FuelVM or similar).
• You’ve published or maintained a library, SDK or CLI that other developers used.
• Comfortable with cross-compilation targets (wasm32, aarch64) and a CI pipeline that builds, tests and releases Rust.

Requirements

• Contributions to ink!/cargo-contract, CosmWasm, wasmtime, wasmer, wasmi, revm, Stylus, Anchor, Sway/FuelVM, Move or a comparable project.
• Gas or metering design, deterministic execution, or sandboxing (seccomp, WASI capabilities).
• TypeScript SDK experience, or API design that other teams have adopted.
• A public artifact we can read: a crate, talk, blog post or design doc.

• No cash salary for this role today, and the commitment is at least 20 hours per week.

First 90 Days

• A written map of the Rust execution and tooling surface: what’s live, what’s stubbed and what DevHub users stumble on, with a stop / continue / start list.
• One runtime path (for example host functions plus metering) measured on replay, fuzzed, covered in CI and documented.
• A first versioned release of a Rust contract SDK or CLI, with a working DevHub template and a sandbox flow.
• A benchmark in CI for one execution hot path, with the number you’re willing to put next to your name.
