Role Description

You're about to embark on a bold, challenging, and game-changing journey. By joining our Research & Development team, you will gain valuable insights into the inner workings of a fintech startup, sustainability, solar lending, and what it takes to be a reliable technology partner to purpose-driven financial institutions. As the remote Research & Development Intern , your primary focus is to understand the early stages of software development and provide critical support in all aspects of research, development, testing, and implementation of OneEthos' products.

What You'll Contribute in This Role

• Your main focus will be on one of the following projects, which will be assigned on or before the start date:
  • Green Bank Platform Project: Collaborate with the Senior Engineer on launching a brand new product for Green Bank in Colorado and support a second objective to increase deposit growth by building technology to generate a stunning "EcoStatement" describing the impact of deposits.
  • Small Business Database Project: Collaborate with our AI team to help build a Better Business Bureau inspired database for mission-driven small businesses.
• Support the NextGen SDLC Project —a joint project with other interns to increase speed of development while maintaining quality and making it easy to transition from R&D to Product:
  • Automate the PM process including PRD, Risk Assessments, etc...(AI Agent + PM)
  • Use the following standards: ShadCN Design System, Tailwind CSS, Next.JS Framework/standard, Cursor IDE, use Cursor rules and keep refining how they are used.
• Conduct research and help implement new technology, utilizing AI and other resources to compile data points and logic for informed decision-making.
• Learn how to write and debug code for feature development, gaining real-world exposure into coding and debugging for a fintech startup.
• Help troubleshoot software issues and assist the internal and extended Climate First Bank team.
• Work closely with other developers to improve product functionality and make meaningful improvements to existing products.
• Support integrating 3rd-party APIs and toolsets.
• Attend all developer meetings to gain insights into the product development process.
• Participate in code reviews and quality assurance activities.
• Continually improve your coding skills.

What You Will Leverage in this Internship

• Your Education and Enthusiasm: Education in Computer Science or a comparable major, initiative in building on your education with high-profile projects, and knowledge in tools and languages such as Javascript, HTML/CSS, Node.js, Git, SQL or NoSQL Database, Typescript, MongoDB, Azure/AWS/Google Cloud, No-Code or Low-Code solutions.

Work Environment

• This is a part-time internship requiring 20 hours per week, consisting of four hours per day five days a week (Monday through Friday).
• This role requires the ability to perform essential functions such as sitting, talking, hearing, and occasionally lifting up to 20 lbs.
• May require attending remote meetings, travel, or working evenings and weekends as needed.
