Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database & GoldenGate Engineer with specialized expertise in Oracle JD Edwards (EnterpriseOne) environments. You will manage, support, and optimize Oracle database environments with a strong focus on JDE-specific data structures, replication, and high availability. The role involves day-to-day DBA tasks, GoldenGate management, and supporting JDE-specific operations like environment refreshes and package build data integrity in on-prem and cloud environments. The role is a 6-month contract with a potential to convert to FTE. ***Need an immediate joiner.***

Responsibilities

• Oracle Database & JD Edwards Administration
  • Install, configure, upgrade, and patch Oracle Databases supporting JD Edwards EnterpriseOne.
  • Manage JDE-specific database schemas (System, Server Map, Data Dictionary, and Business Data).
  • Perform JDE environment refreshes ensuring data consistency and OCM (Object Configuration Manager) alignment.
  • Optimize performance for JDE-specific workloads, focusing on long-running UBEs (Universal Batch Engine) and interactive application queries.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot JDE-specific locking issues and temp tablespace growth during large-scale batch processing.
• Oracle GoldenGate (Replication & Migration)
  • Design and implement GoldenGate for JDE data replication to ODS (Operational Data Stores) or data warehouses.
  • Manage near-zero downtime migrations for JDE databases during platform migrations or version upgrades.
  • Configure Extract/Replicate processes specifically for JDE tables, handling unique constraints and Large Object (LOB) data types.
  • Monitor replication lag to ensure real-time reporting availability for JDE power users.
• Migration & HA/DR
  • Support JDE database migrations (On-prem to OCI/AWS/Azure).
  • Implement Data Guard for JDE High Availability, ensuring seamless failover of the JDE Enterprise.

Qualifications

• Expertise in Oracle Database & GoldenGate.
• Direct experience with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne architecture, including knowledge of Central Objects and Business Data schemas.
• Proven ability to perform JDE Data Refreshes using RMAN or Export/Import (Data Pump).
• Understanding of JDE OCM (Object Configuration Manager) and how it maps to Oracle Database schemas/Data Sources.
• Experience with JDE on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is a significant advantage.
• Ability to act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Managed Services.

Nice to Have

• Experience with JDE "Purge and Archive" solutions to maintain database health.
• Oracle Database or JD Edwards EnterpriseOne certifications.
