[Hiring] Mobile Engineer @American IT Systems

Role Description

We are looking for a Founding Mobile Engineer with 6+ years of experience to architect and build a high-performance crypto trading app from the ground up. You'll be the first and only front-end engineer, owning everything the user touches — from cold start to trade confirmation — at a self-funded, fast-moving team that scaled their last product to $5.4M revenue in year one with just two people.

• Architect the entire React Native mobile app from zero, making all foundational technical decisions.
• Build a best-in-class trading experience (spot + perps) optimized for speed and low latency across all interactions.
• Ship the app from 0 to App Store on a rapid timeline, working closely with the founder and a dedicated UI/UX designer.
• Ensure the app scales to handle 25–50K+ daily active users and $100M+ daily volume with no performance degradation.
• Own production reliability end-to-end — fix critical bugs the hour they land and automate release pipelines.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of six years of experience, ideally in a startup environment or early with prominent financial products.
• Strong React Native skills are critical; experience with Swift and Kotlin is a bonus.
• Experience building 0-to-1 features at prominent brokerage, wallet, or mobile crypto trading apps.
• Experience building and architecting React Native applications from scratch (0 to 1) using TypeScript.
• Track record of very high output.
• Experience independently designing, building, and scaling a consumer mobile app to 1M+ users.
• Experience working in a scrappy startup environment or as a founder.
• Experience with mobile and web3 technologies (Expo, Privy, viem, Solana, Hyperliquid SDK, cross-chain routing, PostHog, Sentry).
• Strong drive and winning attitude.
• Ability to work in NA/EU time zones (Eastern Time Zone preferred).

Requirements

• Experience with native iOS or Android development (Swift, Kotlin) is nice-to-have.
• Avoid candidates with only narrow-scope optimization experience at Robinhood or big tech.

Benefits

• Salary range is $200K to $300K, with the possibility of higher offers for exceptional candidates.
