[Hiring] Mainframe Architect @CSG

Role Description

• Define application and system architecture for telecom Customer Care and Billing platforms.
• Design end-to-end solutions across Customer, Subscriber, Product, Service, Equipment, Order, Billing, and Payment domains.
• Lead architectural reviews and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards.
• Create high-level and detailed solution designs for complex business initiatives.
• Provide subject matter expertise in IBM z/OS and Mainframe technologies.
• Design and review High-Level Assembler (HLASM), COBOL, CICS, and DB2 solutions.
• Guide development teams on architecture patterns, coding standards, and best practices.
• Mentor senior developers and technical leads.
• Design large-scale batch processing solutions handling high transaction volumes.
• Architect online customer care and order management applications.
• Ensure optimal performance of CICS online transactions and batch workloads.
• Lead performance tuning initiatives for CPU, Memory, I/O, and Database utilization.
• Architect solutions supporting Customer Management, Subscriber Management, Order Capture & Fulfilment, Product Catalog Management, Service Provisioning, Rating & Charging, Billing & Invoicing, Payments & Collections, Equipment Management, and Customer Care Operations.
• Partner with business stakeholders to translate telecom requirements into technical solutions.
• Drive Mainframe modernization initiatives.
• Architect API-based integrations between Mainframe and distributed/cloud platforms.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and define future-state architecture.
• Lead root cause analysis for critical incidents.
• Define resiliency, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Govern technical debt reduction and platform sustainability.
• Ensure compliance with security, audit, and operational standards.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of Mainframe Development experience.
• 8+ years working with High-Level Assembler.
• 5+ years in Architecture or Technical Leadership roles.
• Extensive Telecom Billing and Customer Care domain experience.
• Experience supporting large subscriber bases and mission-critical production systems.
• Experience modernizing legacy telecom platforms and integrating with digital ecosystems.

Requirements

• Core Mainframe: IBM z/OS, High-Level Assembler (HLASM), COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, IMS, VSAM, TSO/ISPF, REXX.
• Batch Processing: CA7 / IWS Scheduling, High Volume Batch Processing, File Processing Architecture, Performance Optimization, Billing Cycle Processing.
• Online Systems: CICS Transaction Processing, Real-Time Customer Care Applications, Order Entry Systems, Inquiry & Maintenance Systems, Customer Service Platforms, Account Management.
• Leadership & Business Skills: Enterprise Architecture, Solution Architecture, Stakeholder Management, Technical Roadmap Planning, Vendor Management, Risk Assessment, Capacity Planning, Team Mentoring, Cross-functional Leadership.
