[Hiring] Full Stack Engineer @APAS.AI

Role Description

We have a B2B software tool that is 70–80% built using AI-assisted ("vibe-coded") development. Your job is to take it to MVP: harden it, secure it, and get it ready for market with real user load.

This role is 100% focused on this one product. You'll own the path from working prototype to production-ready application, including:

• Identity management
• Authentication
• Authorization
• Single sign-on
• Security
• Vulnerability testing

Where the existing code holds up, you'll build on it. Where it doesn't, you'll be prepared to rebuild parts of it from scratch.

The product is a web application only for Phase 1, which takes it from prototype to MVP. It must work well in modern browsers on desktop and on iPad, since many of our users work from iPads.

After MVP, we want you to stay on and help scale the product as we grow the team around it. Your work will include:

• Incorporating customer feedback into the product
• Fixing anything that breaks, quickly and reliably
• Building new features and helping scale the product as the company grows

You'll work directly with the founders, identifying trade-offs, documenting them, and explaining them clearly for quick decision-making. You'll also document every meaningful code change to maintain product integrity as the team grows.

This is a full-stack application development role with DevOps and infrastructure already in place.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on full-stack development experience
• Proven experience building at least one application from start to finish
• Experience maintaining a live production application
• Experience working directly with founders at an early-stage startup
• Self-directed and able to work with minimal oversight

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in modern web development: a front-end framework (e.g., React), a back-end language (e.g., Node.js/TypeScript or Python), and REST/JSON API design
• Responsive web design that works well on desktop browsers and iPad
• Relational database design and operation
• Multi-tenant SaaS architecture
• Identity management, authentication, and authorization
• Single sign-on implementation
• Application security practices
• Vulnerability testing and remediation
• Audit logging of user actions and access events
• Automated testing: unit, integration, and end-to-end tests
• Preparing applications for real-world user load
• Third-party API integration
• Regular use of AI coding tools
• Comfortable taking over AI-generated code
• Ability to identify software trade-offs and recommend paths forward
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
• Strong documentation habits
• Available for real-time collaboration with a team on US Eastern Time

Company Description

This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week. You will be employed in Brazil through our employer of record, working for APAS or its sister company, both based in the United States.
