[Hiring] Experienced Software Engineer @madewithlove BV

Role Description

Madewithlove is currently looking for a full-time experienced software engineer (f/m/x) who can make complex systems understandable, embraces legacy code and existing teams, loves working according to the latest standards and takes pride in delivering nothing but high-quality code.

We are a 100% remote company from Belgium that helps start-ups and scale-ups in the tech ecosystem grow. In addition to developing high-quality applications, we shape our clients' teams and the way they work. At madewithlove, you will work on projects for Belgian and international clients, collaborating with hybrid teams.

We specifically encourage underrepresented groups to apply. At madewithlove, we celebrate diversity and promote an inclusive environment where team members from all backgrounds, ages, genders, and sexual orientations feel equally appreciated.

You must live and work between the UTC-01:00 and UTC+03:00 time zones. Since we already have people working in these time zones, extending the time zone further would make collaboration inefficient.

Don't hesitate to apply if you don't fulfill 100% of the requirements. Superheroes don't exist. People with passion and talent do!

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in one or more of our core stacks: PHP (mostly Laravel), Python (Django, FastAPI) or JavaScript (React, Next.js).
• Comfortable working across back-end, front-end and infrastructure.
• Ability to take a business problem, talk to stakeholders and own the solution from ideation to release.
• Experience in writing modern, high-quality code.
• Ability to deliver at speed by shipping small increments frequently.
• Experience in software archaeology and migrating codebases piece by piece without stopping the business.

Requirements

• Protect company values and embrace diversity, inclusivity, and equality.
• Communicate clearly and respectfully push back on unrealistic deadlines and dangerous shortcuts.
• Document everything, including the why, for better understanding.
• Mentor and coach others to help them see what great looks like.
• Work independently and efficiently, while also enjoying teamwork.
• Take ownership and manage your own time in a flexible environment.

Benefits

• Remuneration in accordance with the rest of the team and your experience.
• (Real) flexible working conditions tailored to your personal life.
• 25 paid holidays (20 free of choice and the week between Christmas and New Year) + 10 National holidays.
• A yearly company retreat.
• A group of enthusiastic colleagues spread all over the world!
• Ten percent of your time goes to expanding the company's knowledge, experimenting, or (co-)creating things!

The Process

If you pass the CV screening, you will have a first video interview with a non-technical recruiter from madewithlove. The selected candidates will receive a technical challenge. The final round is the interview with the management team of madewithlove.

Good luck!
