Role Description

We are hiring an Enterprise Architect II on our Strategy and Architecture team at BCBST! In this role, you will play a critical role in transforming business requirements into scalable, governed AI solutions that deliver measurable business value. This position requires exceptional stakeholder management, deep technical expertise in AI platforms and integrations, and the ability to lead initiatives from strategy and architecture through implementation and operationalization. Success in this role requires remaining hands-on in solution design, orchestration patterns, deployment planning, and implementation guidance while influencing enterprise-wide AI adoption.

In this role, you will shape the roadmap for the foundational technologies that power our enterprise AI strategy. Acting as both a technical product owner and AI architect, you will drive the evolution of our Microsoft AI ecosystem, including:

  • Microsoft 365
  • Azure AI Foundry
  • Power Platform

You will define platform capabilities, establish governance and security guardrails, and create the architectural standards that enable teams to design, build, and scale AI solutions safely and efficiently. Working across architecture, engineering, security, data, and business teams, you will advance our GenAI maturity, guide long-term platform strategy, and ensure emerging AI technologies are aligned with enterprise objectives.

The ideal candidate brings experience leading both architecture and product ownership functions within the Microsoft ecosystem. Deep expertise in Azure, Microsoft 365, Azure AI Foundry, and Power Platform is required, along with hands-on experience designing and implementing GenAI solutions using large language models, agent-based architectures, orchestration frameworks, and enterprise integrations. Experience working with leading AI providers is strongly preferred. Candidates should possess a strong enterprise architecture background, a thorough understanding of governance, security, and operational considerations for AI platforms, and a proven ability to design scalable, production-ready solutions. Experience in healthcare and regulated industries is highly desirable.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Establish AI deployment standards, reusable design patterns, and operational guardrails for the engineering teams.
  • Lead architecture and delivery reviews to ensure AI solutions are scalable, secure, maintainable, and aligned with enterprise standards.
  • Define standards for Agentic Development Life cycle, operating model and deployment of agents on SAAS/On-prem infrastructure.
  • Champion adoption of Agentic AI and LLM-powered tooling.
  • Stay current with rapidly evolving AI ecosystems, orchestration frameworks, and enterprise AI best practices.
  • Operate with responsible AI principles including security, transparency, governance, and data privacy by default.

Note: This is a remote, work-from-home position, but the final round of interviews will take place on-site in our Chattanooga, TN office. Candidates must be available to work Eastern Time Zone business hours. Sponsorship is not available for this role.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Computer Science or equivalent work experience required. Equivalent years of experience are determined as one year of technical experience for every year of college requested.
  • 5 years - Experience as an individual contributor leading a team in the design and implementation of one or more of the following: application and integration, data, technology and/or security architecture required.

Requirements

  • Experience leading both architecture and product ownership functions within the Microsoft ecosystem.
  • Deep expertise in Azure, Microsoft 365, Azure AI Foundry, and Power Platform.
  • Hands-on experience designing and implementing GenAI solutions using large language models, agent-based architectures, orchestration frameworks, and enterprise integrations.
  • Strong enterprise architecture background.
  • Thorough understanding of governance, security, and operational considerations for AI platforms.
  • Proven ability to design scalable, production-ready solutions.
  • Experience in healthcare and regulated industries is highly desirable.
