Role Description
Built is looking for a Software Engineer II to join our Ecosystem Team, where we help improve collaboration in the construction lending industry. We work with financial institutions to streamline communication and create a platform that simplifies project management and stakeholder collaboration. You'll be working with modern technologies to build core features that support multiple workflows, making a real impact on our platform. As part of this team, you'll work cross-functionally, solve problems, and implement solutions to ensure our system remains fast, reliable, and aligned with our shift toward an event-driven architecture.
- Develop and maintain solutions that improve collaboration, reduce turnaround times, and enhance user experience.
- Collaborate with the team to deliver high-quality features while managing technical debt.
- Address issue backlogs by identifying pain points, prioritizing resolutions, and implementing fixes.
- Provide and receive thoughtful feedback during peer code reviews.
- Participate in team discussions, valuing diverse perspectives and fostering collaboration.
- Maintain high standards for code quality, documentation, and performance.
Qualifications
- A degree in computer science (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD) or equivalent work experience.
- 2+ years of experience building web applications.
- Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., DynamoDB).
- A strong sense of ownership and accountability in your work.
- Proactive problem-solving skills with the ability to overcome challenges.
- A collaborative mindset and commitment to working well with others.
Requirements
- Experience with distributed, containerized, and microservice architectures.
- Familiarity with event-driven systems like pub/sub messaging or event sourcing.
- Experience with container orchestration tools like Kubernetes or Docker Swarm.
- Proficiency in cloud-native development, especially with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Exposure to financial systems or transactional data workflows is a plus.
