Role Description
This role involves leading the Platform and Infrastructure Team at Newfront, focusing on improving infrastructure and engineering practices.
- Be a technical leader and owner of the Platform and Infrastructure Team.
- Identify areas of improvement and drive foundation opportunities for the organization.
- Work across the organization to influence technical excellence.
- Maintain, optimize, and scale cloud infrastructure, including Kubernetes clusters.
- Manage and improve CI/CD pipelines for efficient software delivery.
- Enhance monitoring and alerting practices to proactively identify issues.
- Improve developer efficiency by automating processes using scripts and infrastructure as code tools.
- Lead design and implementation of shared services common abstractions.
- Lead AI/LLM infrastructure to drive AI/LLM applications.
- Ensure smooth running of applications and systems at Newfront.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deliver high-quality products.
- Follow data-driven approaches to iterate product features.
- Help build out the team and cultivate innovation and growth.
- Mentor other engineers with best practices and ensure code quality.
- Be an expert on industry technology trends and adopt new technologies.
Qualifications
- BS, MS or PhD in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 10+ years of experience in software development at scale.
- Strong experience building, leading, and architecting large systems at enterprise.
- Strong programming and data engineering in one or more backend server languages (Java/Python/Ruby/Go/TypeScript/etc.).
- Experience with web development best practices such as container, docker, continuous integration, and continuous deployment.
- Proficiency with RDBMS such as MySQL/PostgreSQL.
- Ability to effectively communicate with non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to take a thoughtful, pragmatic, and efficient approach to problem-solving.
- A track record of leading engineering project teams and working with cross-functional partners.
- Passion to up-level yourself and those around you through curiosity and mentorship.
- Strong background in infrastructure as code and tools like Terraform, cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
- Strong experience in communication and leadership skills to drive results.
Requirements
- Experience using TypeScript on the backend is preferred.
- Skilled with JavaScript backend frameworks such as Express/Node.js/Nest.js is preferred.
- Well-versed with JavaScript frontend frameworks such as React.js/Next.js is preferred.
- Competent with data pipeline and data-driven analytics.
- Experience with implementing authentication and authorization systems.
- Knowledgeable about logging and monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
- Experience with building foundation platform services serving business applications.
- Experience with the latest LLM/AI agent/Evaluation, etc.
Benefits
- The pay range for this position in California, Washington, Colorado, and New York is expected to be between $235,600 and $294,500/yr.
- Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors.
- The total compensation package may include other elements such as a bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards.
