Role Description
We are seeking a Senior SQL Developer with 5+ years of experience to play a key role in designing, developing, and optimizing complex database systems. The ideal candidate will be highly self-motivated, able to work independently with minimal supervision, and capable of mentoring junior developers when needed. This position requires a balance of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to contribute effectively to large-scale database solutions.
- Database Design & Architecture: Design and architect scalable database systems to manage high data volumes and complex requirements. Implement robust database structures with a focus on security, performance, and reliability.
- Development Excellence: Create and maintain SQL, PL/SQL procedures, triggers, and functions with precision. Deliver high-quality solutions that address complex business needs while adhering to industry best practices.
- Performance Optimization: Perform advanced query optimization and tuning to handle large datasets. Analyze execution plans and implement indexing strategies for improved efficiency.
- Independent Problem Solving: Work autonomously to troubleshoot database issues, ensuring integrity and optimal system performance. Identify and resolve issues without the need for extensive supervision or support.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and deliver effective database solutions. Assist in mentoring junior developers, sharing expertise, and fostering best practices within the team.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve existing database processes, propose innovative solutions, and implement enhancements to ensure system scalability and reliability.
- Exploration of New Technologies: Explore and integrate emerging technologies, including NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB) or data lakes (e.g., Snowflake), to support evolving business needs.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in SQL development and database management.
- Expertise in Oracle 11g and above, with strong knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL programming.
- Proven experience in designing and architecting databases for large-scale, high-volume applications.
- Strong skills in query optimization, performance tuning, and execution plan analysis.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, taking ownership of tasks from start to finish.
