Role Description

Our AI Platform helps organizations find the things that matter and protect themselves and their clients from cybersecurity attacks. We deal with some of the largest and most challenging environments across a broad set of industries.
We're looking for a talented and hands-on Senior Platform Engineer to help drive the technical vision and delivery of features in our Application Data Platform. The platform must support both analytical and operational use cases and presents interesting challenges across a variety of areas.
- Work closely with Application Data Platform leadership to build and deliver our technical roadmap
- Write design documents outlining solutions to problems
- Deliver challenging and high-leverage parts of the platform
- Fix bugs or optimize code for higher performance
- Mentor other engineers within the organization
Responsibilities
- Design production-grade pipelines and systems
- Write and deploy production-grade code on a daily basis
- Contribute to automated tests and other parts of end-to-end software delivery
- Work collaboratively with other teams and within the team
- Mentor and lead junior engineers, breaking up tasks for them
- Evaluate and identify the correct approaches or technologies to solve problems
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule, handling production deployments and monitoring production systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Computer Science or similar or equivalent work experience
- 2+ years of experience as a Senior Engineer owning data production platforms
- Strong applied software development experience
- Experience with real-time or near real-time data processing, databases, and data management
- Experience with an object-oriented programming language (Python preferred)
- Strong fundamentals with data structures and algorithms
- Proficiency in Unix/Linux environments
- Experience with a source control system (git preferred)
- Experience with containerization or virtualization systems (Docker preferred)
- Experience with Kubernetes
- Experience with Cloud Providers (AWS preferred)
- Debugging experience
Desirable
- Knowledge of networking, operating systems, security fundamentals
- Experience with a commonly-used observability tool such as Grafana or Prometheus
- Experience with Rust
- Experience as technical lead for a production-grade data pipeline
- Experience as a mentor to junior engineers
