Role Description
Are you a seasoned Node.js Backend Engineer looking to take on exciting technical challenges in a fast-moving, product-driven environment? You’ll play a key role in maintaining and developing new features across our backend stack, with the opportunity to work closely with our Rust-based query engine, one of the core components of our product.
- Design, build, and maintain backend services using Node.js and TypeScript
- Work with relational databases like PostgreSQL, and NoSQL systems such as Clickhouse or Snowflake
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Frontend, Platform) to deliver end-to-end features
- Take ownership of your work — from concept to deployment
- Ensure code quality with tests and best practices
- Contribute to continuous deployment and daily shipping workflows
- Occasionally travel for team gatherings (1–2 times per year)
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience in backend software development
- Strong expertise in Node.js / TypeScript
- Solid experience with data modeling and SQL databases like PostgreSQL
- Familiarity with NoSQL systems (e.g., Clickhouse, Snowflake)
- Experience in SaaS product development is a plus
- Bonus points for Rust experience, or a willingness to learn it (we use Rust for our query engine)
- Strong problem-solving skills and a growth mindset
- A true team player, but also capable of working autonomously
- Prior experience mentoring junior developers
- Detail-oriented and comfortable working in a CI/CD environment
- Experience with AWS and Pulumi is a plus
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken)
- Available to work in the CET timezone
