Role Description

Northcorp Software is seeking a highly motivated and experienced PL/SQL Developer with 4-6 years of hands-on experience to join our dynamic team. As a PL/SQL Developer, you will be a key contributor to our software development projects, focusing on database development, optimization, and integration.

This is a full-time remote role, offering the flexibility to work from your preferred location. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust and efficient database solutions, primarily using PL/SQL. Your analytical skills and problem-solving abilities will be crucial in ensuring the performance and scalability of our applications.

  • Database Development: Design, develop, and implement database objects including tables, views, stored procedures, functions, packages, and triggers using PL/SQL.
  • Performance Tuning and Optimization: Analyze and optimize SQL queries and PL/SQL code for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
  • ETL Development: Design, develop, and implement ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into the data warehouse or other target systems.
  • Database Triggers: Develop and implement database triggers to enforce business rules, maintain data integrity, and automate database operations.
  • Programming: Write clean, efficient, and well-documented PL/SQL code following industry best practices and coding standards.
  • Data Analysis and Modeling: Analyze data requirements, design database schemas, and develop data models to support application development.
  • Troubleshooting and Debugging: Identify and resolve database-related issues, including performance bottlenecks, data inconsistencies, and errors.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with application developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into efficient database solutions.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation for database designs, code, and processes.
  • Testing: Participate in unit testing, integration testing, and performance testing of database components.
  • Staying Updated: Keep abreast of the latest database technologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Problem Solving: Utilize strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex database challenges.
  • Independent Work: Demonstrate the ability to work independently, manage tasks effectively, and meet deadlines in a remote environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 4-6 years of hands-on experience in PL/SQL development.
  • Strong proficiency in writing complex SQL queries and PL/SQL code.
  • Solid understanding of relational database concepts and principles.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing database triggers.
  • Experience with Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes and tools.
  • Familiarity with database design and data modeling techniques.
  • Experience with performance tuning and optimization of SQL queries and PL/SQL code.
  • Knowledge of database administration tasks is a plus.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
