Role Description
This role involves working with the Engineering Manager, Product Manager, and the engineering team to plan, build, release, and maintain high-quality software.
- Drive system architecture and technical direction
- Develop team members' technical skills
- Continuously improve products by developing novel solutions for institutional clients
Core Experience builds foundations that other teams can use, and you will have the opportunity to improve any part of our system.
- Create and maintain shared services and libraries across micro-services
- Refactor bottlenecks, reduce feedback loops, and simplify APIs
- Develop user-friendly APIs
- Review code for consistency and error reduction
- Formulate flexible and pragmatic solutions to complex problems
Work either independently or as a lead engineer on a team to deliver features.
- Foster an efficient deterministic testing culture
- Break down large projects into smaller tasks
- Articulate options considered, analyze trade-offs, and recommend priorities
Ensure knowledge sharing among the team and collaborate cross-functionally.
- Mentor engineers and help them understand strategic goals
- Communicate effectively with diverse audiences
Qualifications
- Deep appreciation for code quality and test infrastructure
- Prioritize end-user experience and business needs
- Developed computer science fundamentals (concurrency, algorithms, data structures)
- Real-world experience building complex distributed systems
- Enjoy collaborating and mentoring others in software engineering
Requirements
- Experience with GraphQL API design and implementation (bonus)
- Experience with gRPC API design and implementation (bonus)
- Comfortable diving into open source projects to troubleshoot
- Understanding of "crypto" as cryptography, not just cryptocurrency
- Emotionally moved by the soundtrack to Hamilton (bonus)
