Role Description

Launch your career in crypto with Anchorage Labs! Join our dynamic internship program and dive into the heart of the digital asset banking revolution.

  • Work with a specific engineering team, designing and developing code to specs and progressing that code through the software development life-cycle into production.
  • Responsible for multiple team projects through the 9-month program that’s been planned around your skill set.
  • Directly integrated into the team, attending large scale software life-cycle ceremonies and participating in requirements, design, maintenance and support discussions outside of your projects.
  • Assigned a mentor who can guide you as you learn about the industry and answer any immediate questions.

The goals of this program are:

  • Learn: Spend time learning with engineering experts solving real-world problems in a large-scale software environment.
  • Innovate: Explore your own designs and solutions to problems in a rapidly changing industry.
  • Experience: Participate in a rapidly changing environment solving industry-leading problems.
  • Grow: Expand your skill set to better prepare you for your future career after graduation, whether or not that’s at Anchorage Digital.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Master’s degree in Computer Science (or similar degree) and will be graduating December 2024/Summer 2025.
  • Experience building distributed systems.
  • Enjoy building services from scratch and supporting them over time.
  • Deep appreciation for code quality and test infrastructure.
  • Prioritize end-user experience and business value over “cool tech.”
  • Baseline “computer science fundamentals”, i.e. concurrency, algorithms, and data structures.
  • Comfortable navigating environments that are constantly changing, such as a high growth startup.
  • Self-describe as some combination of the following: creative, humble, ambitious, detail-oriented, hardworking, trustworthy, eager to learn, methodical, action-oriented, and tenacious.

Requirements

  • Proactively demonstrates curiosity in learning about Anchorage’s technologies from managers, mentors, technical leads, and/or peers (e.g. peer reviews, code quality).
  • Writes, reviews, tests, and documents code according to Anchorage engineering and team standards and practices.
  • Operates autonomously, yet also demonstrates the ability to ask for help as appropriate and apply it.
  • Can troubleshoot, debug, fix basic issues, and apply basic problem solving techniques.
  • Contributes to software design for their assigned intern project under direct supervision.
  • Is able to explain what Anchorage does and can summarize and explain the top company objectives.
  • Understands how their own work relates to the work of a broader team/function.
  • Contributes to team activities and collaborates with the team to solve problems.
  • Listens and speaks properly with other team members and shares standard information with colleagues, manager and other team managers or leads.
  • Builds stable working relationships internally.
