Role Description
We are looking for a Front-End Platform Engineer to join ActBlue and help us shape the growth of our contribution flow experience. In this role, you’ll focus on maintaining and expanding the primary donation path for users who contribute on ActBlue.
- Write maintainable code that is adaptable to future design and roadmap decisions.
- Lead the process of architecting, refactoring, and improving our contribution forms and user flows.
- Guide the design and execution of technical solutions that prioritize high impact opportunities.
- Partner with engineering managers to find sponsorship and growth opportunities for colleagues.
- Demonstrate technical leadership by writing documentation and establishing effective monitoring.
- Coach and mentor other engineers on your team.
- Receive support from your manager to grow as an individual and increase your impact.
Qualifications
- An exploratory and tenacious mindset when taking on tasks with little to no precedent.
- Some experience working on problems across a front-end ecosystem.
- A willingness to tackle a diverse range of problems within the front-end ecosystem.
- A natural tendency towards documentation and knowledge sharing.
- Knowledge or curiosity around Javascript library management.
- Fluency moving between and across technical systems and stacks.
- Excitement for your own and your teammates’ learning and growth.
- A track record of effective collaboration with other engineers.
- An understanding of and a desire to co-create systems that help build psychological safety on the team.
Requirements
- Stack: React, Node.js, Javascript, Ruby on Rails, GraphQL.
- Tooling: Yarn + Webpack, Typescript, ESLint/Prettier.
- Hosting: Heroku, Kubernetes.
- Monitoring: Datadog, Bugsnag.
- Tracking/metrics: Mixpanel, Looker.
- Things that would be good to know: Docker, Storybook/design systems, front-end testing practices (RTL/Jest/Cypress), Devops practices like CI, Gitops, etc.
