Role Description
We are seeking an Engineering Manager I to lead a team of engineers, drive technical excellence, and deliver high-impact solutions. The ideal candidate should have hands-on technical expertise, strong leadership abilities, and a passion for mentoring teams. You will be responsible for managing development cycles, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring the successful delivery of scalable software products.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
- Drive technical execution by ensuring high-quality design, architecture, and coding practices.
- Oversee project timelines, resource allocation, and development processes.
- Partner with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to define and execute technical roadmaps.
- Ensure scalability, performance, and security best practices in software development.
- Implement and advocate for engineering best practices, CI/CD, and DevOps strategies.
- Conduct code reviews, provide technical guidance, and drive continuous improvement.
- Manage team performance, conduct regular feedback sessions, and support career growth.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and recommend their adoption where relevant.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in software development, with 2+ years leading teams.
- Experience in managing high-performing engineering teams and delivering complex projects.
- Strong track record in scaling teams and driving engineering excellence.
Requirements
- Strong programming background in languages like Java, Python, Go, or Node.js.
- Experience in designing and scaling distributed systems, microservices, and cloud-based applications (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Knowledge of agile methodologies, sprint planning, and software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and version control tools (Git, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a track record of mentoring engineers.
