Role Description
This role is part of a long-standing relationship with a major North American university. The Drupal site you’ll be supporting is live and actively used by faculty, students, and staff. Your role will focus on implementing visual updates, improving the site’s backend structure, and collaborating on cleanup tasks that will enable a smooth migration to WordPress later in the year.
- Implement styling and layout updates using HTML, CSS, and Twig
- Clean up templates and content structure for better usability and maintenance
- Refactor backend elements using Drupal’s MVC architecture (routing, controllers, theming)
- Collaborate with an SEO team to apply redirects, improve metadata, and simplify URL structures
- Provide stability and support through the final stages of the project
Qualifications
- Solid experience developing in Drupal, ideally on live or high-traffic sites
- Deep understanding of Drupal’s architecture (MVC)
- Proficient in PHP, HTML, CSS, and Twig
- Familiar with SEO fundamentals (redirects, metadata, URLs)
- Strong communication skills and ability to manage your time independently
Requirements
- Experience preparing Drupal sites for CMS migration (bonus)
- Prior work with higher education or institutional clients (bonus)
- Comfortable working with content, design, and SEO teams (bonus)
