Role Description
IOB is seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Engineer / Security Operations Lead to safeguard our IT infrastructure and ensure the protection of our digital assets. This role is pivotal in implementing cybersecurity best practices, monitoring for threats, and enforcing compliance with industry standards across all company systems.

- Work closely with IT Operations and other internal stakeholders

Key Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain endpoint protection, firewalls, SIEM, and intrusion detection systems
- Monitor security logs and alerts, investigating any suspicious activity
- Define identity and access management (IAM) policies for user authentication and permissions
- Ensure compliance with SOC2, ISO27001, GDPR, and POPIA regulations
- Conduct security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability scanning
- Develop and enforce password policies, multi-factor authentication (MFA), and least privilege access
- Monitor email security, preventing phishing, malware, and spam attacks
- Implement patch management processes to ensure all systems are up-to-date and secure
- Conduct security awareness training for employees to prevent social engineering attacks
- Work with IT to define secure software deployment processes and cloud security best practices
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in IT security, cybersecurity engineering, or SOC operations
- Hands-on experience with firewalls (Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco), SIEM (Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel), and endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions
- Strong knowledge of network security, cloud security (Azure/AWS), and encryption technologies
- Understanding of SOC2, ISO27001, and POPIA compliance frameworks
- Experience with incident response, forensics, and threat intelligence
- Strong scripting knowledge (Python, PowerShell, Bash) for security automation
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications: CISSP, CEH, CISM, Microsoft Security Operations Analyst
- Experience with Zero Trust security models and IAM tools (Okta, Azure AD, Ping Identity)
- Background in penetration testing and ethical hacking
