Role Description
As a Backend Developer & Data Specialist, you’ll:
- Design and develop microservices and REST/GraphQL APIs
- Architect and implement database solutions across multiple paradigms
- Optimize database performance and query efficiency
- Create and maintain ETL pipelines
- Implement data migration strategies
Qualifications
- 3+ years as a Backend Developer with either Python, Golang, or Node.js/Express.js
- Some experience with multiple database types:
- Relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL)
- Document (MongoDB)
- Vector DBs (examples: Pinecone, Milvus, Weaviate, Qdrant, Chroma, FAISS (Meta), Vespa, pgvector)
- Graph DBs
- Search engines (Elasticsearch)
- In-memory (Redis)
- Time-series
- Ledger databases
- Practical knowledge of:
- Database optimization techniques
- Sharding and partitioning
- Views and triggers
- Backup/restore procedures
- ETL processes
- Experience with microservices architecture
- Fluency in both written and spoken English
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure)
- Knowledge of Docker/Kubernetes
- Familiarity with data lakes
- Experience with monitoring tools
- CI/CD pipeline expertise
