Role Description
As an Application Engineer, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, you’ll play a crucial role in developing, deploying, and maintaining our Marketing application platforms, primarily based on Salesforce technology. Working within an agile framework, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet the dynamic business requirements of our global marketplace.
- Contribute to the architecture, design methodology, and technology strategy alongside architects and the development lead.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to develop and implement solutions ensuring high-quality, timely delivery.
- Support the maintenance and documentation of existing solutions, ensuring they remain robust and scalable.
- Create custom emails, templates, and Cloud pages with HTML and CSS that render properly across different email clients, devices, and dark mode.
- Build configuration changes including Automation Studio, Journey Builder, integrations, APIs, Email Studio, Audience Builder, and subscriber management.
- Build, utilize, and configure any Marketing Cloud customizations for Marketing Cloud Personalization and Data Cloud.
- Perform proactive system maintenance and monitoring including security reviews, release updates, email monitoring, and optimizer.
- Assist in coaching and mentoring junior developers, fostering their growth and development within the team.
- Engage in continuous learning and exploration of new technologies to enhance our digital properties and improve efficiency.
- Participate in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback to maintain code quality and consistency.
- Provide documentation, training, consulting, and insights on Salesforce best practices, trends, and upcoming features to Arc’teryx teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or post-secondary education in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience as a Salesforce Marketing Cloud Developer or equivalent role.
- Extensive email development background.
- Knowledge and experience building responsive HTML emails that follow industry best practices.
- Experience testing emails using Email on Acid and/or Litmus.
- Completed the Marketing Cloud Consultant and Marketing Cloud Developer certifications.
- Experience using AMP script, SQL, SSJS, HTML, and CSS.
- Familiarity with tagging and tracking mechanisms including UTM’s, Google Analytics, Pixels.
- Intermediate experience with SQL in Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
- Proactive attitude to platform enhancements.
- Strong test scripts and thorough testing of solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated success working in an Agile methodology, familiar with tools like Jira and DevOps practices.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to plan and meet deadlines.
- Passion for Salesforce technology and continuous improvement.
- Proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions.
- Flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity.
