[Hiring] Sales - State of Iowa, Midwest SLG @Amazon

Role Description

Would you like to own driving new revenue for a leader in cloud computing? Would you like to be part of a team focused on increasing awareness and adoption of Amazon Web Services (AWS) in state government? Do you have the business acumen, relationships, government sales experience and the technical background necessary to help government agencies solve their most pressing challenges?

As an Account Executive within Amazon Web Services, you will have the opportunity to help drive the expansion and rapid migration to cloud-based services. You'll help lead our engagement with the State of Iowa's government agencies as they modernize IT services and rapidly improve the citizen experience.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Growing and developing strategic customers within the State agencies of Iowa.
• Deepening strategic business relationships and launching new customer solutions.
• Determining the most effective go-to-market strategies.
• Collaborating with various teams including Principal Account Executive, AWS Solution Architects, and external partners.
• Driving engagement at the agency CXO and decision-maker level.
• Thinking strategically about customer business and technical challenges.
• Building consensus across organizations.

Key job responsibilities:

• Drive revenue and cloud adoption in a defined account base.
• Help advance our market and technical strategy.
• Develop, articulate and implement account plans aligned to AWS's strategic direction.
• Identify specific prospects/partners/channels to collaborate with to serve customers.
• Work closely with customers to ensure they understand relevant cloud use cases.
• Maintain an accurate and robust pipeline and forecast of business opportunities.
• Prepare and deliver business reviews to the senior management team.
• Accelerate cloud adoption and ensure customer satisfaction.

This position is ideally based in Iowa, but could also be supported from Minneapolis or Chicago.

Qualifications

• Experience working with, presenting to, and negotiating with C-level executives, IT, lines of business, procurement, finance, legal and internal stakeholders for sizeable commercial/enterprise deals.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
• 2+ years of technology related sales, business development or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrable track record of cultivating a sales territory and continually meeting and exceeding annual quota.

Requirements

• Experience selling cloud solutions at a software company or equivalent.
• Experience with AWS technologies.
• Experience leveraging GenAI technologies to accelerate customer engagement and increase efficiency.
• Experience working with state and local government.
